F-body, Corvette, Viper T56 difference?

Sorry for the newb. question. but is there a big difference between the 3 applications. Are they interchangable at all? Bunch of guys at work keep askin' me. Thanks.

Anyone got an answer for this? I know this thread is old as hell, but there are no other threads on this subject and didn't feel like making a new one.

Is the corvette t56 a direct swap for the 4th gen fbody t56? Also, are the mid 90's f-body t56's the same at the 98-02's?

Since the Corvette has the same LS1 in it, one would think it'd be the exact same T56 tranny with the same bolt config... But that's strictly an educated guess. Dunno about the LT1 T56s...

I've been doing a bit of searching on this and it appears they are different lengths. The corvette and lt1 are shorter. Can anyone confirm this?

Does any know if a t56 out of a 2007 cts-v will fit a 4th gen fbody?

Corvette T56 is different. Its located in the back of the car. Viper won't fit without mods either. CTS-V might fit but the tailhousing is different. I think the output is also different.
