dumb question
I just got a '01 Firehawk 6-speed. It is my first manual car, and I was wondering what the purpose of this button is. My thought was that it is to remind you to put the e-brake on or something? My 2000 V6 A4 camaro did not have this, so thats why I ask.
Thanks

Any reason why it is in this, but wasn't on my A4 V6 F-body?

your auto car just did it automatically without you knowing.
Try pulling the key out of a car when its not in park.won't come out.
Just the manual version for standard trans so it doesn't skip out while driving if you say had to kill the engine. Dont want to cut complete power
I've had it on all my manual cars and never really thought about it before.Last edited by chuckie669; 06-15-2011 at 10:37 AM.

It's there to piss you off.. Serves no other purpose..
Many manual cars and trucks from the various auto makers use a botton or a lever type ignition lock/relrease.. Many have been using them for years actually..
