    Drivetrain clunking noise

i just had my clutch replaced, picked up my car ('99 M6 T/A) last night and all seemed fine. on the way into work today, i noticed a loud clunking noise when i shifted, which progressively got worse and became constant even with the car in gear. any idea what this possibly could be? hopefully it is something they screwed up and will fix on their dime. i really don't feel like shelling out any more $$$$.

any noises before the clutch was replaced like what you described? any noises with it out of gear? make sure they didnt leave anything loose underneath.

there were noises (throwout bearing??), but nothing like this. i'm hoping (and assuming) that they left something loose or screwed something up on the install.

    Torque arm

Check out the torque arm where its bolted to the rear end. I once forgot to tighten the bolts after an clutch replacement. When ever there is push or pull applied to the torque arm you will hear a "clonk".
Just an Idea. But let me know.

Good suggestion, they possibly didn't get the torque seated well and its loose where it bolts to the tranny or its hitting the driveshaft. I would check all with the driveshaft and torque arm to make sure both of them are tightened down. If its not either of those, get it back to the shop.
