    Clutch won't disengage?

    Guys,

    Here's the scenario:

If I have the engine turned of, I can shift into a gear, start the engine and the car will move. If I pull it out of that gear and try putting it into any other gear (including the one it was just in), I can get it into gear. The only time I can get it into gear is if I shut the engine off. What could be my problem here?

    Thanks.

You said it will go into gear with engine shutoff and then when you crank it, the car will start moving. Is that with your clutch pedal to the floor???
Could be several things, Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder, Clutch, or throwout bearing. Or maybe something really simple, air in the lines or empty no fluid. Have you checked the reservoir?

Yes...the resrevoir is full. The line isn't leaking. The clutch pedal still has pressure on it when I push it to the floor.

hmmm, sounds like you may need to drop the tranny and see if it tells the story.

This sounds like a clutch release issue. I would exhaust the clutch investigation before I tear into the trans.
