    Question Clutch problem..help please

So I go to start my Trans Am this morning and everything is fine except when I let the clutch out the pedal doesn't return. Its sorta stuck in unless I reach down and pull it back. Can't get into first, I can almost get it into reverse, well enough for the lights to come on, but not into gear. I left the car in first the other day because its on a small hill. Its cold out also, not sure if that has anything to do with it. Someone help..??

your clutch hydrolic system probably has water in it because it seems something is frozen and brake fluid (aka clutch fluid) does not freeze in temps in PA or the north east

you need a new slave cylinder. the 98-00's had shitty clutch systems compared to the 01/2's. If you're hearing any kind of metal on metal noises while in neutral, that would be your throwout bearing. either way, the tranny has to be removed to access either item. sorry hoss.

Yeah when I was pressing it in, I did hear something watery sounding. No metal sounding, its fine, just won't go into gear. I just got the car maybe 3 weeks ago, so that should be covered under warranty.

Oh yeah there was some snow on it the other day so I took my other car instead. I guess that would explain the water.

You'll have to look it up, but it involves removing a restriction orifice in-line between the master cylinder and the clutch.

I forgot to check the fluid, I'll do that when I get home. Hopefully that's the problem, I haven't even made my first car payment yet!

So I go to check the fluid and can't get the cap off so I decide to start her up again, and of course it works. The clutch is fine although it still makes a squishy sound when I push the clutch in.

Clutch might not be, but if it was the slave cylinder it would be.
