2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
Clutch problem
My step mom has an 01 3.8 and her clutch is acting up. every once in awhile, when she pushes the clutch, the petal goes soft and hits the floor, clutch doesn't separate.
if she lets off and pumps again, it works. And it doesn't happen very often at all, but there's no pattern to it, not at a certain speed, or a certain gear, anything like that.
My first thought was fluid bypassing in the master cylinder, but theres a little fluid on the bottom of it, and on the bottom of the bell housing....any ideas?

Fluid dripping from the bottom of the bellhousing means the slave cylinder is probably leaking. The master could be going bad as well, but slaves tend to be more common.

Completely off topic, but we had a T5 come apart today on the dyno, it was in a '96 Mustang 3.8. The guy was doing a 1/4 mile run, and when he hit 2nd, all hell broke loose. Sounded like marbles in a tin can, and it wouldn't move after that.
I told him time for a full rebuild, hopefully the trans case wasn't damaged.
