I have an 00 ss and was having issues getting into 1st and R. so i replaced the master cyl. did the drill mod, bench bled it and the line. stuck it back together and had nothing. I then went straight to bleeding the master / slave and still have nothing. I am wandering if the new 02 master cyl. is junk from the factory. any one else have this issue?

If its a street car and you're at 400whp or less, the LS7 is an excellent choice.

Spec's are not "junk", there were a bunch that were made a few years ago that were a bad batch, I'm comming up on 30k miles with a Spec 3, Ram adj. master, and slave cylinder. I have no complaints other than my left leg is bigger than my right now, but the feel of the clutch is great.... Even with out doing the drill mod....

I've heard of more Spec clutches burning up or failing than all other brands combined. And I'm not the only one.

Glad to hear you're having good luck with yours though.

Ditto. Glad it works for you Suede but I wouldn't roll the dice with one to save a few bucks.

I'll agree they can be hit/miss, but i also believe alot of it has to do with the install..... Eventually when this one gives, i'll pry still go spec....

A buddy of mine had a Spec clutch in his SVT contour (not the most powerful dinosaur on the block) and his chattered like a son of a bitch. He finally said F it and took it out to replace with another brand.
