Arrow CLUTCH!!BAD CHATTER when pulling away from Stop!!!

Looking for any help I can get, just started last friday, I started my 02 TA and went to go to get gas, as soon as I went to engage the clutch it chatter horribly. Once engaged it was fine and shifted fine their after. after a few times doing it, it stopped. Did the same thing yesterday, and today. Question is, is this the end of the Clutch or is the Slave causing the problem. Either way I guess I will be doing the the hole thing. I am just curious, cause it shows no sign of slipping or shifting from gear to gear

What kind of clutch is in there now? Some clutches are more likely to chatter.
Oh and to answer your Q, its usually the clutch itself that causes the chatter, not the master or slave cylinders.

Sometimes they glaze over a bit when they dont get beaten on every once in a while. My clutch gets loud after a bit but if I slip the clutch a bit and launch the car hard it tends to go away for a while. Im saying this only as an observation though. My clutch is a monster stage 2.

I believe the stock clutch, but can't be sure. I'm the second owner. Asfar as replacing, so many choices, what is a good but not Expensive clutch set-up, also is it better to change flywheel or turn it? a lot of kits come with flywheel and throw out bearing

LS7 kit if you plan on keeping the car under 450HP. Get a new slave while you are going it. The tick MC is a nice piece also. Get a new flywheel!

I have a Spec Stage 3+ which is rated at 850 lb-ft of torque and it chatters on take off. It has since the day I installed it. It's a common issue with many clutch manufacturers. Mine doesn't do it ALL the time though, and when it does it it's tolerable.

Yeah I was thinking about Spec Stage 2 which was recommended to me by DAgostino Racing along with the new flywheel, they said don't change slave unless having issues, but god it's gonna be apart I think I would have to!

and it's more like an earthquake than just a chatter when it does it, what bugs me is it just started doing it, and it's not all the time

I personally would not go with Spec...and that is from my own personal experience with mine.

    UPDATE:

Took the trans out today, come to find out it's a Spec clutch in there, but the pilot bearing went and cut through the clutch plate in half of the disc. My question, should I just replace the clutch disc and pilot bearing or do the whole job with the LS7 clutch kit. The flywheel looks good no hot spots, but there is a scratch line from the piece of pilot bearing.

What do you guys think, wish I had endless funds but I don't

Yes it is a good price.

    Definitely do the whole job.

Less than $500 for an LS7 clutch kit with flywheel is a good deal.

Also change the pilot bearing (obviously since its trashed) and the slave cylinder while you're in there.

Ordering the LS7 kit tomorrow, in the meantime, any easy way to get the pilot bearing out or should I say what's left of it. Only the outer race is left.

also would the slave cylinder have a GM stamp or pat number on it, I am trying to determine if it's the original or has been replaced also. The Flywheel was the original and had a GM stamp on it

Cut it out with a dremel tool.

@35th-ANV-SS do you know if they sell just the clutch discs for the stage 3+ or do you have to buy the whole thing over cuz I have that same one.
