Clutch on 01 SS Camaro

Thinking of changing the clutch on 2001 SS Camaro myself. Is this something better left to the dealership, or does it normally come off as planned? Anyone?

clutch comes out easy...pilot bearing doesnt...thats a pain...even with the right tool...if your planning on doing this yourself...make sure you replace the flywheel and when putting the pressure plate on tighten the bolts an even amount and in sequence this will ensure that you pull the plate up evenly and wont have any chatter...also what clutch are you planning on using...ive got over 400 to the wheel and i still use a factory LUK LS6 clutch...i dont slip it a whole lot though...but i dont straight up drop it though

Hey, thanks for the info. I been shopping for clutches and was thinking bout the Centerforce. Do I get the factory LUX LS6 from a dealership? You've got 400K on the same clutch? Sounds like the one to get.

he said 400 hp not mileage. i just ordered the ls7 clutch from speed inc with the t.o bearing and pilot bushing for less than $700 shipped! and i think its good for around 600hp.

the kit i ordered comes w/ flywheel, ls7 clutch, pressure plate, and i got the t.o and pilot. just the kit is $605 i think the t.o and pilot is another $70
