Cant get into 5th gear
Cant go from 6th to 5th but i can go from 6th to 4th then to 5th
even if i come out of 6th double clutch, it wont go in
sometimes if i go from 6th to 5th and rev it a bit it slips in , it doesnt grind or anything idk what could be wrong'
i have an idea but i wont say ne thing till people post

thats what i was thinking, but idk why'd it go with only 72k on the clock, not like I raced into 5th gear all the time?

Mine went out with only around 5K on a brand new tranny. Won't happen again took it to tranny shop and for $700 got it rebuilt with hardened synchros, steel 1-2/3-4 forks, and bronze shift fork pads.

for that price did u get a deal or something, is it really that cheap to get trannys rebuilt

Yeah my mechanic knocked off $100. $800 is about average for a good rebuild with aftermarket parts, $600 for a basic stock rebuild.

how come i can go from 4 to 5 but not 6 to 5, is there more than one synchro, sorry if these questions are really trivial but i'm not the knowledgeable with trannys.

well mine did about the same thing, except I couldn't always go from 4-5, but sometimes I could. it was a combination of synchro and shift fork pad. the stock shift fork pad is a cheap piece of plastic.

what are you guys talking about? Where do you live??????? I had mine done under warranty, and the bill to GM was 3500 CND for fifth and reverse synchro, and the reverse gear itself. The shop I went to wanted more claiming that GM wasn't paying him for all the time he put into it. What is going on????
