    burning clutch smell

Tonight I floored my car from a stop with about a 2500-3000 rpm drop. I noticed no wheel spin and not going as fast as i should and let off. TCS was off. I got out of my car and smelled almost like clutch, remember I do have a rearend whine at low speeds and turning. Do you think it could be a bad clutch (still grabs well) or the rearend?

this sucks having this issue 2 weeks after buying a CLEAN 75000 mile car that ran great during test drive and babying it since i bought it.

Probablly just a weak clutch. I occasionally get that when I'm driving hard. It could also be crappy hydraulics that aren't releasing very fast

If it still grabs well and doesnt chatter or anything, you should be ok. Mine smelled like shit when I did burnouts and went to the track. Never had a problem and the clutch was fine. I'v heard ppl say its bad when you get that smell, but every one I know with an M6 have the same problem.

What do you mean it doesnt move fast? Is the problem that it wont grip, or the engine is lacking power?

there was no tire spin from a stop, with a rev drop. the engine has the power just didnt seem like it was getting to the wheels, I was expecting wheel spin(with TCS off) and better acceleration. It didnt "feel" right or smell right afterwards..

    Definitely sounds like slipping clutch.

I've narrowed it down to this.. last night I did it again and the club grabbed perfetly and the rearend left 2 perfect lines down the road. plan on doing a clutch after the sentra I have for sale is sold.

I had the same problem. I replaced my Clutch Master with a Tick Master Cylinder.
Seems to be fine now with the high RPM clutch dump.
