    2001 Chevy Camaro SS

    4th gear

    so i ran at the track today and with the m6 trans when i would shift into 4th it would slam back out of gear at high rpms-the only way i got around this was to shift at about 5000 rpm ,anything over 5300 and it wouldnt stay in 4th....really weird feeling and screwed my times up considerably.at 5000 rpm it would go into gear like butter.anyone have any experiance with this

    I have this problem in third, and my 4th doesnt like to come out of gear... pretty sure its the synchronizer for 3rd and 4th

    Sounds to me like a bent shift fork. Typical symptom is popping out of gear, especially at higher RPM's. Bend shift forks are not uncommon on T56's, since they use aluminum shift forks to save weight. Upgrade to steel shift forks and you won't have any more issues.
