    3rd gear lock up

    5100rpm shift from 2nd to 3rd and the shifter locks up in 3rd and that car acts like it's in neutral. then its a kinda hard to full it out of 3rd happened 3 times since i got my z. (happened yesterday when i went to race some fag in a gt he thought he was the shit when i caught back up him then went from a roll in while i started from third chewed his car up look on his face was priceless) ne 1 what this could be or how i could fix it.

    your 3-4 fork is messed up..its very common..when you rebuild it ..make sure you put the viper t-56 steel 3-4 fork.

    is that hard to change, sorry for the newb q, but i donno much bout the the tranny on these cars, the 3-4 fork is that in the shifter

    no its hard..you'd need to take it to a shop..plus while your at it you might as well beef it up..not its not in the shifter..its in the tranny..it move the 3 and 4th gear to be connected.

    i recently rebuilt my entire transmission. mine was doing the exact same thing but i bet the keys in the syncronizer are broke or jamming if you have a lot of patience and are really cheap like me you can do it yourself if not then send it to a shop
