    3rd / 2nd downshift problem

When I attempt to downshift from 3rd to 2nd, no matter what speed, about 75% of the time the car just won't downshift. It will go to first or fourth no problem, but just not second. Could this have anything to do with the skip shift eliminator installed in the car?

Your eliminator is not causing this. It sounds like a 2nd synchronizer wear problem.

IMO, down shifting is non-essential expensive wear and tear. Brakes are a cheaper way to stop the car. But who doesn't love the sound of an LS1 whinding down?

thats how ive always done it is cheaper and easier to replace brakes than it is to do a clutch.

Its not a problem Second gear after you shift out of it it is very near to impossible to come back to it. Unless you are going at a slow speed like less than 20mph. the way its syncronized you'd be good decelarating on third or fourth.
