I want to say that there is a difference between the car and truck transmissions -- could be the output shaft length or something. I'll see if I can scare up an answer this evening.

A 98 4L80E at that time would have likely been behind the big block trucks and burbs since I don't believe the 6.0 LS truck engine hit the scene until 1999.
With that said I'm not sure if you would run into fitment issues, or crank snout to converter fitment issues or not, since you're trying to bolt this onto an LQ4. I'd have to say something is going to be different here, since GM hasn't been too good about swapability since these LS engines hit the scene.

what yr is the LQ4?
Pre 99 LQ4's had a LT1 style crank, while 99< have the LS style crank.
I know this because of T56's need a different front plate and input shaft if you take a T56 built for a LT1 and want to use on a LS engine.
I'm pretty sure the same applies to auto's. The Bell housing should match up, it's the other stuff that becomes the issue.

The difference is convertor hub for the crank. Just need a convertor to match your engine. May need a different output shaft in addition to a tail shafts housing if going in a rwd

In case you didn't know this about 04' blocks - It's the year that GM in their infant wisdom decide to do a block design change in the middle of the production yr. Some blocks are setup for your classic LS1 head bolt's while the newer blocks are setup for the current head bolt style. How you can quickly tell is the head bolts on the middle row, the 2 outside bolts. If they are shorter than the rest of the long ones you have an older block, if all the same length then you have a newer block. It's only on this block yr that there is this issue.
It's an important detail when ordering any head bolts. I got almost screwed when they sent me the wrong set, lucky I was able to resale my arp's

I'm pretty well knowledgeable in the LQ4's. Did a lot of reading/researching on combo's and builds for these blocks. Any questions just ask.
I also have a build thread (in my signature) if you care to look. Beware it's been a little scary the last yr. I spent 3/4's of it trouble shooting a noise and found it just before Christmas. It hurts real bad. But I'm now heading in a direction I should have gone in the first place.http://www.ls1.com/forums/f7/my-6-liter-build-174257/

Silver- 2000 C2500
Are you looking for a 2wd 4L80e? I have a low mileage 2wd transmission from a 2000 C2500 I would be willing to trade for a 4wd unit.
