What 4L60Es will work?
Seems like a search for a 4L60E will bring up a transmission out of every car made except a Camaro w/ an LS1?? Will any transmissions from other vehicles or earlier engine combinations work?
Thanks,
Jay

no LT1's wont work, trucks from 1996 to 99 wont work. The difference as far as I know if the shaft length on the front Converters are also different. I believe the GTO auto will work but its actually a 4l65E if I remember right. I think the electronics are the same except the 4l65e has 5 pinion plants.
What are you looking for?
they make some that can handle power

Tail housing is different from the F-body to the GTO, but you can just unbolt and swap them...F-bodies have a mounting hole on the tailshaft housing to bolt the torque arm to, GTOs don't.
I bolted in and ran an F-body tranny in my goat while I built up my stock one.
