why not just move on up to a 4L80?
-

cause the 4l80 requires too many modifications to install, like hacking the lower firewall, cause the trannys much bigger than the 4l60

a built 4l65 is cool, well, its only the 5 pinion planetarys that are different, was looking at them too. the turbo 400 is a monster but id lose overdrive. i think the best bet is a built 4l60

You sticking with the 4L60E or you wanna try a th400?
I think performabuilt does a nice job on transmissions, a lot of people choose their tranny. They should be a sponsor on here.

I dont know about that I've had v6's that where stock that the 700r4 could'nt hold the abuse. I've also had a 74 4bolt 350 that was out of a wrecker that ate my 700r4, but once I bolted a th400 up to it could pull the hatch off a submarine.. The only simularity I saw was they both bolted up to the 350 v8..
