Transgo shift kit
I have a auto A4 in my 1999 ss and have 3300 yank stall with an hp tune, and i was wondering would a transgo shift kit be worth the money for performance? thanks

most people install the shiftkit along with a tranny cooler when they put in a stall. but i wouldn't mess with it to much trouble for what it is just my $.02

see now i have heard that a shift kit with a stall is pointless. That a stall with a good tune will do more then a shiftkit would ever do. look over on tech and ask performancebuilt transmissions ..they are a sponsor here i believe

They do help quite a bit. be sure to have tq managment deleted from your ecm though. there not to bad to install either. Might be a little tricky if you've never been into a tranny before though.
I installed the Trans Go HD2 in my brothers 94 camaro and all i can tell you is if you've never done one before, there instructions they give you dont tell you much at all, so just a little warning. there not step by step, just says do this, do that, etc

Its a good idea, addresses issues like SteveC said and firms your shifts back up.

I agree it's worth it. I have the Transgo kit and SY3500. I thought it was easy to do with the video tape and instructions. As with anything... Just take your time to be sure.
I now have the torque mgmt at 50% for 1-2 shift and off for 2-3. Very nice and crisp!

I've got a question. 04 a4 goat, I'm running the stock stall, with a tranny cooler. 0 tq management, shift time set to 0, and copied and pasted the performance shifting tables over to all other tables.
part or WOT it shifts exactly when I want it to, no delay at all, bangs up into the next gear and chirps my 275's every time, at 65 mph going down the highway when in drive, mash the pedal and drops down to second gear and violently launchs and throws you back in the seat...
what would a shift kit do for me?

at 50% I have a pretty good kick right now on the 1-2, if I go to 0% tq mgmt won't it be kinda violent and impact tranny life?

I offer the modified TransGo Performance Shift kits. These kit are tailored to "match" your motor/rear end gear ratio/torque converter setup, and how you drive. The higher stall gives the appearance of softer shifts, just the opposite is happening, the transmission shifts are quicker than before. The reason you do not "feel" them, is the smaller diameter torque converter transmits less shock to the geartrain. (Less weight, and higher stall). This is actually easier on the whole geartrain. The Shift kit willl speed up the shifts, and can give them more of a "shift feel", but this is not necessary for durability. Dana
