I think my car needs one. Any one with one ON YOUR CAR or had one. Need some suggestions. What kind? Price? Good and bad points. My car is a DD. Right now it has a 2300 stall, would like to go to a 3000. Thanks for the help.

Surely can't hurt, only help. B&M 24K is a favorite and comes with everything you need for the install.

I have a B&M 24 cooler and running a 3400 stall. Basically if you do a stall at 3K you should put one on. I have heard of a cooler by Hayden I believe which is supposed to be really good. Inside the tubes they are slotted like a gun barrel. This creates a swirl and allows more of the fluid to reach the outer cooler areas. Makes sense theoretically. As was said earlier though it will not hurt to do it!!

The B&M coolers are nice, add a SPAL puller fan for best efficiency. It's also nice to run a temp guage to monitor it. If you heat it up often, change it often.

In Hotlanta the summer temperarures were just too hot for my car to handle any stop and go driving, which there is a lot of, so rather than park my car I changed to a Be Cool radiator (because my front mount intercooler blocks it off)
and for the 4L60E I added a B&M deep pan that adds three quarts of fluid and a B&M Hi-Tek trans cooler with a thermostatically operated fan. The pan ranges from $49.99 for stamped steel to $166.99 for cast aluminum. The cooler with the fan ranges from $189.99 for the small one to $209.99 for the larger one. I went with the smaller one because space is at a premium on my front end, but if you have the room I think the larger one is worth the extra $20. The prices I've quoted are from Jeg's, but Summit is about the same and they both offer free delivery. I think a trans cooler is pretty well essential for anybody who runs a stall and a bunch of power in city traffic. Heat is the biggest killer of auto trannies.Michael

Thanks for the help. I guess I will add it when I change my stall.

I got a B&M 24k, with a 3000st, and my trans usually runs about 125 deg on average. On real hot days it may get up to 150 or so, and in extreme stop and go in 100+ weather, I have seen it peak at about 180 max. The thing is that coolers dont work nearly as well in stop and go traffic because they (or most) dont have a fan on them to pull air through when you are not moving. Either way it still helps though.

i ran 2 B&M's with my Supra, and they wouldn't keep up without fans (with fans they worked beautifully).
