Tranny Mount???
Ok I have a quick question. When I accelerate from a stop I cant hear a clunk thtll occur a few times in a second coming from the tunnel by the tranny mount. Also if I go to pass someone hard I can hear the tranny hitting the tunnel. So my guess is my mkounts taking a crap. Im jw if anyone has had the few clunks off idle and had it be their mount. I had a torque arm go and it would only clunk when going in and outta gear and it seems to me a u joint would be audible while driving and just rolling in gear. To where this is only audible under low speed accel.
Thanks Dan

For the price of a transmount ($25) you should go ahead and change it cause yes bad transmounts can cause that but so can bad motor mounts. It can also cause damage to the trans if you let it go for to long.

Ok im gonna try the tranny mount. Question i have is the auto part store has one listed for a 98 but none for an 02 like mine. However summit lists them as being the same part number. Did they change the mounts in any year that would cause it not to fit.

not that I know of. May just be a data base F-up on thier part. I had a parts store tell me that the temp sensor I was looking for was located on the thermo housing and as I looked at the picture the guy was refering to it was the wrong engine even though he put the right one into thier system.

I put a urethane mount in my Z28 just a few months ago and noticed a difference right away it will stiffen up the drive train a bit so don't be alarmed if it feels strange to you. The factory rubber mounts break down and get sloppy thats probably what your noticing

If you have factory motor mounts, do not get a poly trans mount. You run the risk of damaging parts. It is better to have both poly engine and trans mounts.
