Torque Converter Brands
I bought the TCI break-away for my 450 HP LS1 and it lasted 5,000 miles before shelling out completely one night. I have now purchased an ATI Treemaster that is basically a custom-made racing converter that they make to fit the exact specifications of your car. I have talked to several people that race for a living and they say that the ATI TC's are practically impossible to break. I learned the hard way that production converters like TCI and B&M are junk. Check them out at http://www.atiracing.com/ and you will see that they use superior materials and craftmanship. The owner, Jim Beattie, is very helpful.

The only two brands I would go with are:
1. Yank
2. Vigilante
I have never read any complaints about the above manufacturers.
I have a Y3000 in my vehicle for over 7 years without any problems whatsoever.

LOL yea TCI can be crap. My bud has a mopar that he bought a TCI trans and TC and he broke 4 flex plates and cracked the trans in half before figuring out that TCI had given him the wrong part #'s for his 360.

Converter
I have a Yank 3600 stall in my Z28. The converter is chattering in lock up. I called Yank-they told me I could send it in but they most likely DO NOT have the parts to repair it.He said they have changed the design. I know anything can break but it sucks when you cannot get the parts to repair it.
