Tips/Tricks to building a strong 4L60E?

    Tips/Tricks to building a strong 4L60E?

    Where is the best place to get a rebuild kit?

    It's getting a Transbrake, not sure why, I've just always wanted one.
    I throw down 468/450 to the ground, with 50 shot once I get it in 2nd gear. Anyone think I'm going to break my '04 GTO rear end?

    I live in the middle of no-where......so local help is hard to find, or wickedly expensive to buy from.

    Weakest link is the stock sprag and sunshell, go with a hd sprag, Beast sunshell and 5 pin planets to start with. I also upgraded to a Raptor hd input kit, Hugh's Performance kevlar clutches and steels and a Transgo hd2 shift kit.

    A tranny cooler is a must, and the bigger the better

    I've got the 5 pinion gearsets sitting next to me.

    Is it a Sonnex brand "the beast" sunshell? Who makes the beast?

    Did mine last year, I just said I wanted the "beast" sunshell and the tranny shop I got everything knew exactly what I was talking about and got the right part... It might be Sonnex, lots of the upgraded parts were made by Sonnex

    as far as i know.......the trannys already come with a covette servo

    Yes they do. At what point GM starting putting them in I'm not sure,,,,maybe 2001??
    I bought the corvette servo setup to install in my 02 SS camaro, and when I pulled it apart I found it already had the setup in it factory. So GM started in at least 2002, possibly earlier.

    With a transbrake??? Ya more than likely those half shafts are going to complain.

    Transbrakes are fun. I wasn't aware they were made for the 4L60E. Can you still keep automatic control of the trans, or does it require a manual valve body like other transmissions do??

    they have transbrake setups for both auto and mvb now....but they can be awful hard on the 4l60s from what i understand

    Can anyone here provide part #`s on what is recommend for the 4l60.Got a 2000 ws6 with 50k on it,going with a fuddle 3500 stall trans cooler trans go kit an deep trans pan.I really just wanna get the trans out of the way now so I don`t have to pull it out a second time.

    GM Used Corvette Servos in 4L60E's originally in Impala SS, Camaro, Corvette, GTO that is about it, almost all years except some very early units, they do not put them in trucks they use the 553 servo majority of the time
