Temps High. Cooler Position
I think I finally figured out why my Tranny Temps were so high.
Only 1/4 of my cooler was being used.
I have my B&M 24k cooler mounted in front of the condenser with both hoses pointed down.
The top 3/4 of the cooler is cool so I know fluid isn't flowing. So is it because its clogged or air??

Changing out the external cooler didn't help.
76 outside. Engine temps 190. Tranny temps 216. Sitting at idle for 15 minutes dropped it one degree.
Even on the freeway it never dropped.
Going to bypass the radiator cooler.

Looks like bypassing the radiator cooler helped. Not sure if it was clogged or what.
But engine temps were 195-200. Tranny temps never went over 199 on the freeway.
City speeds tranny temps went up to 205. But after a short idle they dropped to 199.
The cooler was completely hot all over. So flow must have been an issue.
I'll go for a longer drive next time.

Seems like it would push the air out of there, but who knows. Anything in the instructions as to how it should be mounted? I have a suction gun that I use to push fresh fluid through the cooler. Just did it on a friend's Dart when we swapped out his transmission. It works great.

I don't think air was the issue. Nothing in the instructions about position.
