    T56 to a 4l60e

    Im wanting to know what it would take to swap out from manual to a4????

    Wire harness for a 4L60E (if that is what your are going to), new transmission cross member, tune, transmission, drive shaft, hole in the center might need cut open to fit new transmission shifter, linkage for shifter, center consul for automatics and stall converter that matches your engine output (meaning if you have a cam/heads/bolt ons the stall converter that will handle it.

    I believe that covers it all. It isn't a cheap thing to do but possible.

    The brake pedal state-switch also has to be changed... it's single-state with an M6 and multi-state with an A4 due to the interaction with the TCC. Don't forget the cooler if moving to a looser converter than OEM.

    I have a 71,000 mile A4 out of our '02 WS.6 setting in our lower garage -- it needs a new home.
