Get a deap pan to hold more fluid if you don't have one already. Check the flex plate real good for cracks or worn converter bolt holes. Clean out the cooler lines with compressed air. Tail housing and rear seal unless the trans comes with the correct tail. Lock tight for the converter bolts and matbe a new set of converter bolts depending on what shape they are in. Oh and clean up the dip stick tube real good so it will slide back in to the new ruber with out a fight. Get a bunch of long extention for your socket wrench so you can unbolt the trans from the engine by going up from about the tail housing over the trans, this is the easiest and quickest wat to get to them. One bolt on the driver side is a PITA so I found if I bent a cheap 9/16 wrench to about a 45 to 55 angle and removed my long tube header I could get to it. I found it easier if I removed my LPP long tubes that the trans went in and came out easier but all headers are different. Think thats about it. Header gaskets if you have to take them out. If you find you have to drop the back of the trans down to get to the bolts, remove the bell housing bolt that hold the trans wire harness first and watch out for your oil sending unit. Broke mine the first time but I am LT1 so not sure on ls. It's a good time to replace it though.

If the trans has a warrenty ask them so if anything goes wrong they cant blame the fluid you used.
