Question on 4l60e conveter
Hi everyone another new guy here. I've done several searches but cannot find an answer to this question. Hopefully someone here can shed some light. Is it feasable to use a converter out of an s-10 Blazer with 4l60e trans? I've tested several and they stall at 2000-2200 rpm, which is about 1000 rpm higher than in the v8's, I want to put it in my 98 Trans Am.
I'm an old school racer from years ago and we used to use th350 converters that came in vegas. It would stall about 3000 rpm behind a 406 small block. With a trans cooler I ran one for three years, street and strip, with no problems. I'm wondering if the s-10 or 4 cyl converter has been tried. Thanks. See ya.
Happy Holidays to all.

Well I'lll be dating Jesse Jackson....finally another old junk yard gearhead!!! Shit man...before "JEGS" we lived at the junkyard cutting and beating shit to make our old 65 GTO's or 63 Chevy's a tad quicker.....ok...nuff of that I guess....
You could "rob" the stall out of another car...but I have a couple of thoughts first...have you programmed your shift points and firmness with what you have now?
Do that first....then a Precesion Industries 3200 stall is what you want man....2000RPM is not what gets the bar maid off if you know what I mean for your ride....

Dont waste your time trying to swap verters.
What are you future plans for the car? Is a cam in the near future? Match the cam to the verter and anything else you may get for the car. Im sure you know this, but you dont want a 2800 stall with a large cam.
If you're going to stay mostly stock, a 3000-3500 stall seems to suit most people quite nicely.

Thanks for the input guys. Just trying to explore all the avenues, I'll just get a good one to start off. As for mods probably at most a lid, converter, LT headers, ory, and cat back. I'm going to keep it mild and hopefully user friendly. Thanks again. See ya.
