paddle shifters
anyone try this kit with the paddle shifters? looks like it would be cool. fun too.

i readabout his in an ad in car craft magazine, and said it could lock up the converter in any gear. that would save so much gas. and then you could easily run a 3600+ stall on the street.

eh, might be fun but is expensive, especially for mechanically inclined. My friend has them on his car but never really uses them since the tranny already shifts at the right exact rpm.

I don't know much about how they work really but my impression of the whole paddle shift deal is unless you auto-x the car I can't see them being very beneficial. A person will never shift as quick or consistent as the pcm. The only reason I could ever see getting any use out of them is if you're on a auto-x track and want to hold a gear, then I could see them being beneficial.
