    New Stall

Hey guys, I just installed a 3400 Stall in my TA. I have driven it about 200 miles since the transmission rebuild and have noticed that in 4th gear it stays at around 4000 RPMs, and overdrive is not engaging properly. When I put the stock stall back in the car works fine with no issues. Do I just need a new tune for the PCM? I had a 3600 Stall in the car before and had the car tuned immediately afterwards and did not have these issues. I was also wondering if maybe it was the speed sensor since I just put bigger wheels and tires on the back. Any input is appreciated.

Seems like you need a tune. Why did you take out the 3600 stall?

The Transmission lost 3rd and 4th Gear so I put a new stall in as well when I had it rebuilt.

After I installed a 3400 stall, it drove nasty. Got it tuned and drives perfect. What kind of converter did you go with?

yank again. I still have the stocker though which is what I am using until I can get a tune

Yank makes great stuff. Probably close to the yank stall I have. I would keep the stocker in until you're ready to do a tune again. If it's a DD, I couldn't deal with it.

sounds to me like the stall isn't locking up. Sometimes the lighter stall will trigger false misfires which will keep it unlocked. Mine would lock and then just randomly unlock. Not definite that this is your problem but something to look at.

Thanks. I will have it checked out. I dunno about the converter not locking though. You may be right, but when I stomp on it it goes like it is supposed to... I dunno. I am gonna have it tuned next week.

the tuning will most likely fix your issue. Just tell the tuner you've been having issues with it not locking so he can desensitize your misfires at low rpms. When you go wot the converter unlocks anyhow.

Issue is fixed.... Wasnt the tune at all, it was the speed sensor. Since I put the new wheels on there the speed sensor was off by 12MPH and it was apparently enough to make the PCM go crazy
