    more aggressive shift!

i have the 93 z with the a4 4l60 non electric. I was wondering if anyone had an idea on how i would get it 2 shift harder without buying a shift kit. It drives too smooth for me. i want the mean jerk.

Shift kit or new or reworked valve body. Might as well do a shift kit. How many miles on it? has it been rebuilt yet. If not I would save up for a good trans to replace it. Then you order it the way you want.

Cheaper and easier to just do a mail order tune from Frost here.

He can tailor your line pressure and shift points in the tune for a firmer shift. Don't even have to drop the pan and get dirty
Doing it in the tune is enough to spin tires on the upshifts and usually will satisfy most people.

Eh,,,nevermind,,,you have the old TV cable version. It's drop the pan and shift kit time for that one.

A shift kit is really the best way to do it on the old transmissions. Like said with the electronic a tune does a great job. Your best bet is to get a Transgo shift kit and either do it yourself or have it done at a shop. Its worth the cost either way.

He has a 4l60, no E. It's not electronic. It's just like the 700r4. Only way he can do it is throught the valve body by means of a rework or shift kit. 93 is a little odd compared to the rest of the years.

No. lol Heat is the killer of an automatic. Shift kits and pressure changes don't make that much of a differance. Power, heat and lack of care do the damage.

Sometimes folks make mistakes get used to it. I had to read your post a second time too. @ first it sounded like you told him to get it tuned. But after rereading it realized you ment "IF" the OP had an electric... Chill dude..

No problem. I didn't intend to sound harsh. Just have seen a lot of folks on here jumping into the thread and posting without reading. I see you have been on here a while and aren't likely to do that. My mistake.
We both agree that he needs a shift kit. So its all good.

i've heard of tranny builders blocking off the accumulator so that it'll slam into 2nd.

the trans go SK for the 700-R has washers you put in the accumulator to make it as banging hard as you want.......but I think you would get tired of a slamming 2 shift after awhile
