Lq4 to turbo 400??????
Doing a engine swap in a Buick grand national from a stage 2 buick to a Lq4 what do I need to change for the trans to bolt up to a turbo 400. I heard something about a spacer any one know about that.

The original GN had a 200R4 trans with the universal bellhousing (Chevy or BOP). If you have a BOP Turbo 400, you will need an adapter plate to allow the top two bolts of the bellhousing to be used. Try advanced adapters.

On a BOP (Buick, Olds, Pontiac) trans the top of the bell housing will dip down, Chevy will have a peak. A BOP bellhousing will need an adapter, If you have a Chevy trans, none needed. There are a couple of companies to get an adapter from. Try these links:

This is an adapter for the flywheel:

Some pics of the bell housing and I can tell you exactly what you have.

I am familiar with the bell housing adapter but I was looking for the flexplate adapter that you linked here.(I wasn't sure what it was being called) What is the deal with them do they just sandwhich between the crank and the flexplate or what?? And thanks so much for the links

It goes between the crank and the flexplate. It extends through the center of the flexplate and supports the torque converter. I forgot to include a link to the new flexplate, sorry.

The torque converter bolt patterns are slightly different. This will do it.

Hughes seems to make a SFI LS1 to t350/t400 flexplate that seems to be made in one piece and doesn't need the spacer. Would you happen to know if thats true?? I definatly need the sfi flexplate since my setup will definatly hit the 9's and my stock V6 turbo ovaled out the stock flexplate, let alone a pt-88 Lq4 motor

I have not seen one in use, do you have a link. Also there are TH400 torque converters that bolt to the Gen 4 flywheels.

I was wrong about the flexplate from hughes. It also needs the spacer. I was hoping not to change the converter but I think my 5500 stahl will be way to much for a pt-88 4blt on a lq4 any one know it will be hardly street driven
