    grinding noise...

    ok so the other day i was drivin, and my friend was next to me in his camaro. he noticed that when i dropped it in 2nd (we were going about 45) it made a grinding noise. its an a4 ... anyone know what it could be?

    got headers?!?!might be rubbing against the frame...
    only way of fixing that noise is by putting polyurethane bushings..or tranny mounts ..but never heard of that ..hhmm

    when it shifted during wot...did it grind? if so..the rear end might need a gm additive

    i remember mine also did that when it was stock....just added the gm additive...probably a good 3-5 thousand miles laters....stopped hearing the grind noise when shift changes occured during wot

    dont shift it into 2nd when driving...its a pain on the whole tranny ect. just keep it in 3rd when you want to race...when in third and you shift you have use of 3 clutch packs i believe compared to 1-2(dont quote me on the numbers) 1 & 2 are for towing and not recomended for constant driving unless you get your self a shift kit/built tranny

    try the additive, if not i would think your gear might be screwed.

    hey shady i got a couple of questions....i changed the gear fluid while i was swapping bearings....i put lucas 60/90... whats the recommended weight i shouldve put...i noticed the stupid hum when accelerating...
