    Found a TH350 cheap and

I was wondering if it was worth getting to replace my stock 4l60 with 110k miles on it. Details in the for sale thread are posted below and highlighted in red. What would i need to mate it up to the car if it is better then the 4l60 and is it that much of a upgrade to warrant doing the swap. Want something thats not gonna shit out at 400/500 hp.

TH350 long shaft(thinking its the 9"), was told it had low mileage since it was rebuilt $150

If its a DD i wouldnt waste my time with a 350 tranny, i would just pull out the 4l60 and rebuild to handle 500 HP.

I was actually thinking a 4l80 would be the next step after the 60 burns out.

The 4l80e is bigger, heavier, and a lot more expensive. If your an LT1 car the PCM has to be changed as well. A good 60e can handle upwards of 700hp. lots of low end torque tend to kill them but if you find a builder that changes to bigger input shaft and all the goodies then it can hang all day with 500hp. The TH350 is not much stronger than a 4l60e. but you can build it stronger for cheaper than a built 4l60e

Imho, if you want a 3spd auto go th400, a non built th350 may not last. I've seen plenty of stock th350's blow with only 165hp v8s in front of them(different story when built right tho). Th400 is a stout unit out of the box.. The 4l80e is also a stout unit borrowing some internals from the th400, and the 80e has overdrive..

in my opinion if money was not a issue it would be 4l80e>th400>4l60e>th350.
