Dipstick Tube without a grommet
I just replaced my tranny with one from a recyclers. I didn't notice that the dipstick tube hole didn't have a grommet in it before installing the tranny. Then I started to fill it with fluid. I can't believe I missed this! I have tried everything to get the tube up high enough to put a grommet in. The only thing I haven done is totally remove the tranny again. Does anybody have some ideas as to how I can get the tube out far enough to install the grommet?

With the tranny dipstick unbolted from the head, you should be able to wiggle the dipstick out. I had a similiar problem, but my grommet was torn and had to purchase another one from a dealer.
