    Thumbs up

As a matter of fact, I think you'll find that is quite common. That sound is coming from the driveshaft itself. I hear it sometimes, and I'll bet a lot of ppl here know [I]exactly[I] what you're talking about. I actually talked to GM about this when I worked at the dealer, and was told that this is a 'normal operational characteristic' of these cars, and that no repair should be attempted. I suppose you could try an aftermarket driveshaft.

oddly, i know GM had a technical bulletin for the same noise on Trailblazers, and the repair was a new driveshaft assembly.. strange...

There is a good possibility that the sound is coming from the axles. I have an M6, and mine makes the sound whenever I disengage the clutch quickly with the engine under a load. What happends is the splines on the axle get worn out, and there is slack between the splines and carrier housing. The only way to get rid of it would be to upgrade both the axles and carrier with brand new ones.
