Can a 4l60e be used in a early model camaro.
I have a 77 Camaro with 373 gears and a 350 trans,I have a 4l60e trans that is in good shape, can this trans be used some way in my 77 Camaro without going broke doing so?

what motor is in the 77'?
IIRC you will need to have a pcm and wire harness that will work with the motor and the transmission both 700R and 4l60e. Also the transmission cross member would need to be change as well as the drive shaft.
The cheaper option is changing the gears.
Just curious but why are you considering this?

As stated the car is a 77 Camaro with a B&M trans that's about a year old the car has 373 gears and a good running performance engine. The car runs great around town but noisy on the highway with the low gearing and the 350 trans.I was thinking about buying a 700r4 trans or installing 323 gears or both.I can do both for about $2500 or just the gears for $700. I have the 4l60e in a 93 jimmy that I have and is about to part out and than junk it.

I am almost certain I saw adapter plates in Jegs or Summit for mating a 4L60E to an SBC. You can buy an aftermarket transmission controller, but you are going to be spending some bucks on a swap like this. A 700R4 is the same transmission, just omit the electronics, so this may be an easier and less costly swap. In stock format, neither transmission is particularly strong and anything over 350 hp has a good chance of breaking them if you abuse the throttle.

Cheaper and easier solution
With a mild 3.73 gear all you need is a 28" tire on the back of that thing and it will cruise at 65 mph at 2800 rpms all day long. No need for an overdrive.
I've criss crossed the country several times with that exact combo and actually knock down pretty decent mileage too. I find it very comfortable to drive.
