automatic wont shift...

i need help, although mine is a 3.8, i thought someone might know...whenever i get on my car in first gear, it takes it to redline and keeps it there entirely to long until you can hear clicking, and then it jumps into second. If you take it easy, it will shift into second with no problem. however the car still feels like its holding back or somethin, like rpms are going up, but the car wont accelerate right...any ideas?

how does it shift manually? Could it be shifting from 1st to 3rd?

When you check the fluid level check the condition of the fluid, the color and smell.
If its bad(burnt smelling/black) change the fluid/filter and check for metal... If there is a bunch then prepare for rebuild!
