A4 shifter not seating into grooves right...

    Here's a problem I recently discoverd on my 02 SS (105,000 miles)-

When I move the automatic shifter knob from say Park to Reverse, the orange colored indicator on the console goes to "R", but to actually get it into reverse gear, I have to fidget the shift knob back and forth a little. The same for between Neutral and Drive.

    Any ideas?

Well - I took it to the local Chevy dealer. Turns out that the last time they serviced the tranny, they left some bolts loose. They also indicated that they had overfilled the transmission fluid the last time the SS was brought in.

    Geez...
