A4 Question??
Can you ride all your gear out in an A4 or will it stop??

I'm not sure what you mean. You mean manually shifting from gear to gear? I do that every now and then and it does stop or top out.
You have to shift rather quickly but, I do it and pretty much know when to shift.
I will tell you this, when you are going 30ish from a roll, and you slam to 1st and then hit the gas, it is way more violent than if the kick down in the tranny is utilized in drive. You have to be ready to shift again real quick too. Leaving it in 1st for too long is a bad thing.
Thats my take.

well usually if I am driving it is around 50 so I can go into 2nd.
But I cant go past 6000rpm??

Yeah, there is a reason for that. Don't go past about 5200 rpms for very long.
You're scarring me here saying that you can't go past 6000 rpms. You'll be on here next week with a tranny problem or engine makes loud hammer noise question....lol.

The computer can consistently shift better and more accurate then you can. If you want different shift points, then like nhraformula said get a tuner and reprogram the computers shift points. Also on a stock engine you really don’t want to push the RPMs above 6000 RPMs. If you wish to push the RPMs higher, I highly recommend getting after market pushrods and also switch to better valve springs and titanium retains and locks. Because all you have to do is float a valve once and kiss the engine goodbye .

you have a stock rev limiter that'll keep you from over reving the engine. That's probably what you're talking about. It's there for a reason so it's not a good idea to try to rev past it. You'll bend pushrods if you're not careful. Just let the computer take care of shifting....it's far quicker and more accurate than you.
Don't worry with the mass airflow. The stocker can support ~500HP before you have to worry about it. Take that money and spend it on better suited mods. What does your mod list look like so far?
