    98 A4 Shift button issue

    I have a 98 A4 that I have already disconnected the brake safety solenoid 3-4 years ago. Lately it has been having issues sticking again to the point last week I could not depress the button at all. Friday I took the upper console off got the sifter to release lubed everything up and it seemed to be working great until yesterday and this morning I had issues with it sticking again.

    Any ideas?

    I've never had the shifter apart on mine.....does it have the solenoid lock out like our 98 GTP had? I had to bend that lock out so it wouldn't engage on that one.
