your builder is what you need to change. some minor changes were done. seals integrated to the pistons is one i can think of offhand. the major change was electronic solenoids for controlling the shifting. 700R4, you will need to find a way to hook up a TV cable to the throttle lever. ratios are still the same 3.06, 1.62, 1.00 and 0.70. still have four gear planetary. 700R4 has either 7 or 10 vane pump. 4L60E has 13 vane pump. different input shaft for the f-body 4L60E.

I have to agree. The folks who are building your unit do not understand it well enough. The 4L60E has a bum rap. It is a transmission that requires a knowledgeable builder with performance experience. There is much more to it than a shift kit, a converter and a beefy sunshell. That is why we enjoy building it. We can't find enough cores right now... if you pull it out look me up and I'll give you a fair price for it... regardless of it's condition.

Good luck with which ever route you decide to go.
