Anyone with any700r4 experience...The problem is it won't stay in overdrive. It will shift into overdrive if on a slight grade, but shifts back into third on straight and level, or slight downgrade....any ideas....I have changed the fluid and filter twice.?????

Those use a govener that makes it shift I think. I had my trans guy explain it to me but I started to get the charlie browns teacher thing going on. WHA wha wha wha. Anyway is it a lockup and is it locking up? With that milage it may just be time to rebuild. as you can see I don't have much experiance with them but mine blew up in an 85 IROC years ago and did the same thing close to the end of it's life but it was bleeding out too. I had a bad trans mount that cracked the tail shaft and I have to give it props cause I left about 2 quarts on my then girlfriends dad's driveway and it bleed for 30min at highway speed. lol

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
700R4's have a tendancy to "hunt" for a gear when you're driving between 30 and 45. It can't make up it's mind if it wants to be in 3rd (1:1) or OD (.7:1). My 89 RS did that all the time.

I will be having a 700R4 stage 2 build with stall converter (I believe 3200rpm ) with 20,000 miles on the rebuild for sale for $300. Doesn't slip or anything. Have no idea how much shipping would cost tho
Edit: Shift kit also┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐
