    4l60e replacement on 04 gto

first auto i ever owned. looking for a good replacement for it. i hate that god aweful second gear. it pisses me off. i dont need an over drive so a 4 spd will do just fine. if im not mistaken the 4l60e is a 4spd with over drive. is there any transmissions out there that are like a 3spd with over or just a plain old 4sp that will bolt up thats electronically controlled.i make around 500whp

4l60e has 4 forward gears. 4th gear is overdrive.

wow, i thought it was a 4sp with overdrive, thats interesting. hell i could use a turbo 400 for driving around town then. hell, but i wouldnt have any topend. damn if only i could have the best of both worlds.

yeah if you put your GTO in 3, thats what it would be like driving around with a THM400.

are you talking about 2nd gear shifting to soft or you don't like the ratio?

Get a stall and put in a little lower set of gears in the rear, All fixed.
