    2001 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 HOSC

    4L60E HD 500+ HP Rated

    Hello,

    I could really use your assistance. I have a 2001 Chevy Tahoe 2WD with a 5.3 V8 with Modifications.

    1. I have a Whipple Blower Pushing 10 lbs
    2. Air Raid Cold Air Intake
    3. Air Raid Throttle Body Spacer
    4. Edelbrock Headers
    5. MagnaFlow Dual Exhaust with High Flow Cats
    6. New Rear Gear from a 3.73 to a 4.10

Here is my dilemma: I am pushing 500+ HP, I don’t know how much at the rear wheel. I have 23’ Rims with 305-40-23 Street Tires. The truck as per GM Specs is 6000 lbs, not to mention the large speaker box, 4 AMPS, Extra Batteries….ETC. I can’t afford a 4L80E with the MODS to replace the existing 4L60E. I have Killed 6 Tranys before. What are the strongest components & combinations anyone can recommend?

Please let me know as soon as you can.

You need to have one built that is bullet proof bottom line. You need to have someone that knows all the weak links to go through one and build it with the right parts and the right attention to detail. I can rattle off tons of go fast goodies that will help but as I have learned with the 3 transmissions I have gone through you really need to know the strengths to the parts you are buying and a builder is going to know better than anyone these days with most parts being made in india, china, and elswhere. They build more than you and I and see what the problems are and make changes in the parts they use or how they use them so they don't end up in a food line out of work.
