2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
You have to get one that was attached to a LT1. The LS1 has a different bell housing bolt pattern.

I thought Gen 1 & 2 Sbc had a different bolt pattern from a gen 3, do they not?

Nope they are the same. Now the gen 4 LSX is a little different.

well, technically there is a difference. the LS1 has two bottom bolts that go into the oil pan. the upper 6 bolts are the same pattern with one exception. the LS1 has one at the 12 o'clock position. the older design has one at the 1 o'clock position.

Yea the 4l60e is basically the same case as a 700r4 wich was used on Gen 1 small blocks in many aplications but you will need a controller for it
