460le
I have an automatic that slips when cold and hot, are there any adjustments I can do, such as band adjustment, or any additives that might help.
This is my first post, please don't ignore me...

if the transmission seems to work ok other than that and the fuild is not burt excessivly , I would try replacing the (pcs)preasure contol solinoid first,

Is your SES light on? If it's slipping should be throwing a code.

Actually It might not set a code in lower gears since the pcm allows fo converter slip and the 4l60e only looks at engine rpm and output speed, Also it will not set a code for pcs either unless its electrically faulty, The pcm has no feedback from the pcs for a mechanical fault , Now it theres excessive slipage in 4th with lockup converter engaged you may get code 1870 (componet slipping).I would suggest changing fluild and turn the preasure up a little as i mentioned earlier and then start looking for a transmission,

Thanks for the replies, I have recently changed the fluid and noticed black residue on the bottom of the pan., Looked like rubber and wiped off easily. The fluid is good. No Codes and I do not have an SES light. The Shift from 1st to 2nd is now harsher than it was at light throttle.
Can I adjust the bands or add an additive to get it back to normal?

I would change the pcs as i suggested earlier , additives make little or no diference
