3rd and 4th gears not working?

I just installed a intake and tb while i was testing it out all of a sudden 3rd and 4th go out. 1st and 2nd are good but once i get to 3rd it stops acceleration and revs up like it was in nutral and at 3 thousand rpms it jumps and goes a bit more at a high rpm. any help on this guys.

Not sure if this is your problem but there is a GM Bulletin simular to your problem. What do you think?
The use of an excessively/over-oiled aftermarket, reusable air filter may result in:

    • Service Engine Soon (SES) light on

    • Transmission shift concerns, slipping and damaged clutch(es) or band(s)

    • Engine driveability concerns, poor acceleration from a stop, limited engine RPM range

The oil that is used on these air filter elements may be transferred onto the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor causing contamination of the sensor. As a result, the Grams per Second (GPS) signal from the MAF may be low and any or all of the concerns listed above may occur.

When servicing a vehicle with any of these concerns, be sure to check for the presence of an aftermarket reusable, excessively/over- oiled air filter. The MAF, GPS reading should be compared to a like vehicle with an OEM air box and filter under the same driving conditions to verify the concern.

make sure you got it at the right level, overfilled or underfilled and you will have problems.

That stop leak stuff is crap. If i were you i would drain it out completely before adding more fluid. Sounds like you're pretty low on fluid so this could be your problem.

Is the trans fluid dark and dirty? Smells burnt? If so then its time for a rebuild. If not, then are there any codes stored?

Those TPS codes could definitely be your problem. Check that over and try clearing the codes and see which ones come back.

Well it seems like the 3-4 clutch pack in the trans might be toast which means time for a rebuild. You might wanna get a second opinion from a professional who can look at car.

Its not really a DIY thing. You could search for a local rebuilder or an online rebuilder. We have a sponsor here that can sell you a beefed up, rebuilt transmission.

I'd reccommend level 2 or higher
