2 Shift solenoid ECM code After stall converter install

Ok guys I am new on this, so excuse me for my ignorance on the terminology. I have a shop in San Antonio TX that install a Circle -D Converter, after the 3 day the second shift started slipping and take a long time to shift from 1st to 2nd. I check the transmission fluid level and was low. I have to put 2 quarters. No the check engine light turn on and the code is P0751 which say "Shift solenoid failure or 2nd shift solenoid valve performance". Any suggestion with this issue? The transmission was working perfect prior of the converter installation. My car is a Camaro 2000 z28 automatic.

You had to add two quarts of ATF? That's not good...does it slip after adding the ATF?

did you add a tranny cooler? They might not have accounted for the tranny cooler when adding fluid. I forget the shift solenoid issue....Frost explained it to me a couple years ago. I had that same code and just disabled the code 2 years ago with no issues so far.

Higher stall converters can set this code because the converter slips more and the computer thinks the transmission clutches are slipping. So if your trans is behaving normal and you are getting this code, then you should have it turned off in the computer tune.

If your trans is actually slipping and you have this code, then you need to fix whatever the problem is. Might be the solenoid itself, might be a clutch pack or the band.

Or the low fluid right? I remember Frank@performabuilt saying how important it is to have the exact amount of fluid in the trans.

yep low fluid could cause slippage and its possible that can trigger this code.
