Z06 with LS1 intake??
ok my question is, what is needed if a LS1 intake is put on a '01 Z06?
The reason why is because my friends vette is going back to the dealership and i was going to get his LS6 intake and put it on my SS. I already will be getting the coolant pipe kit for my car so it will work. The thing is, if I put my LS1 intake onto his vette, what is need to make everything complete?

Wait a minute. You are showing that you are a 01 SS correct. If so then you already have an LS6 intake. all 01-02 cars come stock with the LS6 intake.

Yep, what he said. If you're not the original owner and think someone might have swapped it post the part number to be sure. PN on mine is 12561184 in '01 from the factory.

you are positive it is an LS1 intake? can you post a pic? if someone put an LS1 intake on your car then they must have already plugged the EGR provision on the intake as your car is not equiped for EGR and if so then you should be able to just bolt it right up to the zo6 for a clean swap.

the intake i have on right now DOES have an EGR hole but is plugged. So i assume that it is an LS1 intake right? I even checked the coolant pipes and it doesnt even go underneath the intake.
o yeah i was thinking it should be a clean swap. Just get the intake gaskets and ready to go. How long does it usually take for an intake swap?

Yep, if there is a plugged hole then it is an LS1 intake. The LS1 coolant lines do run under neath the intake, as yours do not then you had an LS6 intake at one time. Previous owner probably did the same as you (zo6) and took it off before getting rid of the car. The first time I took my intake off (LS6 swap) I think it took me all day (LS1 off and LS6 on), I re-used my old gaskets they were in good shape. a good write up can be found here www.ls1howto.com it is the one I used. Oh yeah and where it says you have to hold the 4 rear intake bolts up (they wont come all the way out due to the cowl) I used old school clothes pins to hold them up, I did the swap by myself with no extra hands so the clothes pins helped alot. Just take your time, I can do it with my eyes closed nearly now.
