    Y-pipe Question

I recently purchased a set of Dynatech Supermaxx headers. I cannot find a Y-pipe to go with them, although Thunder Racing sells the off-road pipes that bypass the cats in the complete system. Does anyone know what Y-pipe will work with the Supermaxx headers? I really would like a bolt-on Y-pipe, so I don't have to take it to a shop. Thanks.

Just spend the little extra and get a shop to make a custom one for you. Shouldnt cost more than $160.

Why install a stupid Y pipe? Go to your local muffler shop and have the tech build you a dual exhaust system with both pipes going over the axle and exiting out the rear from beneath the bumper in the stock location. That way you will pick up some real performance.

Can you purchase the Supermaxx headers seperate from the whole package or did you get the dynatech drag race headers? I just got a set of the Drag Race headers and I need to by the collectors and a y-pipe. Anybody know what the main diff is between the supermaxx and the drag race styles?

I contacted Dynatech, and they sold me the Y-pipe. I bought the catalytic converter bypass pipes from Thunder Racing. The whole setup cost about $350.

You cant go over the axel with pipes on each side...well its not a good idea. On the drivers side, its closer to the fuel tank and well, thats all I have to say aboud that.

    heat from exhaust>tank of gas
