    Y Pipe and Catback

My wife just gave me the $$ for a new exhaust, I'm thinking about getting the SLP LM II and Y pipe. Does anyone have this set up and are you happy w/it?

save your money and don't get the y-pipe, it's a waste. go LT's/ORY (Pacesetter) and a good catback. better power gains for the money spent...

I am looking at the same set-up but everyone seems to deny the y-pipe as being worth anything.

spending $200 for only 5-8rwhp at most from the SLP Y-pipe is not a good way to spend money (IMO). I went Stainless Steel Long Tube Ebay Headers, and Pacesetter 3" ORY for about $450-$475. I already had the SLP LM on my car (I still bought that too) before the headers. I'm just saying for a little more $$$ you can get something you would be happy with in the end...

check out the vid of my car...

What brand of stainless steel headers did you find? Are they the XS Longtubes? If so, how do you like them?

Hey man, nice to hear from you. Have you gotten all your stuff installed yet? As for the headers, I just went to Ebay and typed in 'ls1 headers'.

    Example:
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-CA...QQcmdZViewItem

I got mine in and they were excellent quality. Thick Flanges, nothing warpped, etc. Then I bought the 2-piece Pacesetter 3" ORY and had it modified to fit the headers after they were installed. As for liking them, you bet!!! I have had no problems with them at all. For the price, knowing I have a set of headers that will never rust is a good feeling too. I had my AIR and EGR removed when the headers went in. If you'd like some pics, let me know and I will see what I can do for you.
